Iain grew up in Timberlea, formally from Mabou. He has gained private sector experience in a number of jurisdictions working as an operations manager.
Iain holds a Golf Club Management Diploma from Holland College, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a Master of Arts in International Politics organized by the Centre Européen Recherches Internationales Stratégiques (CERIS) in partnership with the College d’Etudes Interdisciplinaires of the Université Paris Sud-11.
Iain has experience as Director of Operations of a large commercial development company in Ottawa, and as a Project Manager in Halifax working on special commercial projects throughout North America. He successfully worked with local entrepreneurs to launch Premiere Self Storage in Burnside Business Park in 2012.
Iain serves as the Government Caucus Chair, Vice Chair of the Public Accounts Committee and is the Chair of the Nova Scotia section of the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie.
